Thanks to a genius idea from the no less genius Ariane Moffat, the Francofolies put together Studio Bell, a pop up recording studio in the heart of the Place des festivals. Four teams of talented musicians from different backgrounds took the studio by storm; each team had 24 hours to compose a brand-new song.

URBANIA seized this opportunity to introduce a new Facebook live format: The Short and Sweet, in which each artist is asked to answer a series of rapid-fire questions by selecting one of two options. The interviews were conducted by host Nicolas Ouellet.

Thereafter, URBANIA produced a Facebook live series, where each team was invited to describe the way they envisioned the next 24 hours of creation. URBANIA also produced the Minuit moins une series, comprised of four 5-minute documentaries that chronicle each team’s creative process.

The videos totaled some 200 000 views; 200 000 instances where local artists got a chance to shine, thanks to Bell and les Francofolies!

Studio Bell won the first ever Grand prix de la commandite 2017, handed out by Infopresse.
